Boracay was one of the places we had on our wish list for this trip for obvious reasons: crystal clear waters, warm weather, and all of the beautiful beaches. One thing we didn’t anticipate was meeting new friends and enjoying a home cooked meal with them.
We met Shiela through Couchsurfing when we saw her post about meeting up with some other CSs (Couchsurfers for you noobz out there) for some drinks. We met a bunch of new people that night all from Couchsurfing from all over the world. The next day Shiela invited some of us to go boating around the island with some of her local family and friends. We all had a blast snorkeling, eating, and exploring new beaches on the island.
I guess she really enjoyed our company because she, her “brother” Coco, and his lovely girlfriend invited Greg and I over for dinner the next day along with Thommy, Neviin, and Jack. Two Swedes, three Filipinos, two Americans, and an Australian (don’t worry, I’m not about to tell a bad bar joke here) all enjoyed a home cooked meal of fresh prawns and rice with some music and great conversation. The perfect way to spend a night on Boracay.
