Although, I say that mostly because it involves lots of tasty beer. So far not one place has been a disaster, but I just haven’t got that feeling of “this is THE spot.” Here is the journey so far:
1. Hockey Haven on Balboa and 38th – A few too many men over the age of 70. No food. But, the waitress was super nice! This was also the place I discovered my new favorite beer: Big Daddy IPA
2. The Bitter End on Clement and 5th – Great food, happy hour till 8p.m., young crowd, but NOT a single Lakers fan in sight. So far it’s my #1 pick though.
3. Buck Tavern on Market and Brady – Good prices, Big Daddy IPA on tap, decent food, bartender and waiter were kinda bitchy (men), and TOO FAR!
Next stop on our adventure is the Dirty Trix Saloon . I emailed the bar and got an awesome response: The main bartender is a Lakers Fan!!!!!! That can really only mean good things! The only problem I foresee is the lack of food, BUUUUUUUUUUT on Sundays they do a FREE lunch/brunch that they call “Trailer Trash Tailgate,” and there is free food! So, I’m gunna have to try out this spot twice. Once for a weekday Lakers game and then again on a Sunday with my beer koozie in hand so I’m prepped for the Trailer Trash festivities. With an NFL Sunday package this bar may also be the spot to watch my other favorite sports team, the Cowboys! I know what you’re thinking….and YES! It’s tough being a Lakers and Cowboys fan in San Francisco!
