This title may seem over exagerated, but it isn’t. We seriously went to the weirdest place on this planet. It’s called Haw Par Villa and it’s in Singapore and it’s fricken weird. I stole this next part from Wikipedia, “The park contains over 1,000 statues and 150 giant dioramas depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, folklore, legends, history, and illustrations of various aspects of Confucianism.” But they forgot to mention how unbelieveably weird this place is.
We were the only people at this super weird “theme park” (actually, I wouldn’t consider this place a “theme park.” I think it’s more like a park that lives in someone’s weird ass dream). Like we seriously only saw maybe 2 other people and they were totally like, “this place is f’n weird!”
It started off somewhat normal, and when I say normal I mean normal for a weird place. Please notice the tiger at the top sticking his tounge out at us because apparently he knows what we’re about to get ourselves into.
And then we saw this giant snake about to destroy a goat and we were like, ok, that’s pretty cool and hard core.
But then these guys showed up, and that’s when the weird began. I’m not quite sure why they are getting their sumo on with bottles of Tiger Balm, but they were and that was weird.
Then a deer and a rat in suits were getting served coffee by a turtle.
Then I got attacked by a monkey.
It’s like cock fights, but with giant sized grasshoppers! Normal!
Then this guy yelled at us to enter the Ten Courts of Hell, and for some weird reason we did.
That’s when shiz really started to get cray cray, because we basically walked into a dark dungeon of torture.
Anyone want to know what it looks like to get cut in half the long way? Well, here ya go!
How about getting stabbed by a bunch of little needles while you sit in a tub of your own blood?
Boiling blood bath anyone?
Ok, ok. This park was actually pretty cool and definitely showed us the history of Chinese mythology in an iiiiiiiiinteresting way. But when this happened…it was time to go.
P.s. We met a new friend, Faizal, and this is the first place we went. It got a little awkward at times, but luckily he thought this place was as weird as we did so we became quick friends.
